چکیده

Using local materials to construct building elements as well transport road facilities, including highways, intercity roads, and in remote areas is a top topic of scholarly research all over the world. The main reason for that fact these kinds not only ease intensity material transportation but are also cost-efficient. In desert areas, aeolian sand commonly used it has been investigated unbound cement-stabilized pavement base/subbase applications. However, production cement associated with high carbon footprint, leading this seek alternative low-carbon binders. This strength properties footprint fly ash (FA) ground-granulated blast-furnace slag (S)-based geopolymer-stabilized sand. Setting time, compressive strength, California bearing ratio (CBR), temperature shrinkage measurements stabilized were carried out research. maximum was found at optimal Si/Al 2.5 Na/Al 1.0. increased geopolymer stabilizer content increased. A ranging between 8% 20% recommended practice. lower than tendency became more evident samples higher indicating effectiveness an green soil traditional Portland cement.

ALKALI Activated FLY-ASH Based Geopolymer Concrete

Considering the increasing demand for developing alternative construction materials, due to the growing environmental concerns, this paper discusses the feasibility of alkali activated geo-polymer concrete, as a future construction material. The main objective of this study involves observation of structural behaviours of the fresh fly ash-based geo-polymer concrete, understanding the basic mix...

A Comparison Study for Chloride-Binding Capacity between Alkali-Activated Fly Ash and Slag in the Use of Seawater

This study aimed to investigate the chloride-binding capacity of alkali-activated fly ash (denoted as FSW) and slag (denoted as SSW) samples and their synthesized Cl-bearing phases, which are capable of binding and immobilizing chloride when seawater is used as the mixing water. This study also examined the progressive changes in the pore structures of the FSW and SSW samples over time. The res...

The Characterization of Fixation of Ba, Pb, and Cu in Alkali-Activated Fly Ash/Blast Furnace Slag Matrix

The fixation of heavy metals (Ba, Cu, Pb) in an alkali-activated matrix was investigated. The matrix consisted of fly ash and blast furnace slag (BFS). The mixture of NaOH and Na-silicate was used as alkaline activator. Three analytical techniques were used to describe the fixation of heavy metals-X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS), scanning electron microscopy (SEM) equipped with energy di...
